Soyeon’s Asscher Diamond Domed Friendship Ring

Soyeon is one of my closest friends, and this ring began as an idea to create something that captured the small details and inside jokes that define our friendship. The design centers around a domed ring silhouette, inspired by the jade rings worn during Korea’s Joseon dynasty. To complement the vintage character of the form, we chose an Asscher-cut diamond for the center stone—its stepped facets adding a subtle old-world feel.

Rather than surface engraving, each motif was built directly into the mold of the ring, giving the details depth and permanence. The band is filled with playful references to our shared memories, including a Jinro soju frog tucked along the side. What began as a friendship ring ultimately became something more: a piece that holds the quiet, personal language of years of friendship.
