Small Drops of Light and Color

Not every pair needs to match to belong together.
This bespoke commission began as a study in balance: a mismatched pair of dainty 14K gold dangling earrings, designed with movement, color, and asymmetry in mind. One side held a vivid yellow princess-cut diamond. The other, a vivid green marquise diamond.

Different shapes, different colors, but connected through proportion, delicacy, and light.

The drops were made with floating diamond charms: drilled diamonds, not set stones. Without a traditional setting around them, each diamond is able to move freely from the hoop, catching light with every turn. A small drop of light, made to move.

We used drilled floating diamonds in marquise and emerald cuts for this pair, creating soft contrast against the sharper color stones above. The result is playful but refined: a pair that feels collected rather than perfectly matched.

After creating the earrings, we pulled a small selection of floating diamond charms from the same idea to make available on their own. Each one can be looped onto a compatible hoop, huggie, chain, or existing piece you already own. Wear one as a single accent, mix them into a mismatched ear stack, or use one as the starting point for a custom NUNCHI piece.
