Lotus Forest Long Keepsake Box

From the Najeonchilgi Series — keepsake objects the studio commissioned from South Korean artisans practicing najeonchilgi, the centuries-old craft of inlaying mother-of-pearl into lacquered wood. Each shimmering fragment is placed by hand. The artisans who do this work are aging out of the practice and few are taking their place. The Lotus Forest is the long-form box in the series — sized to hold full necklaces and bracelets, with a forest of lotuses worked across the lid.
